PAPER FASCINATES ME. It's a simple medium that hasn't changed much over the years, but the infinite number of things you can make or do with it is just so fun. As a designer of paper goods, it’s such a thrill to create pieces that give people all the feels: feeling loved, feeling remembered, feeling proud, feeling happy. From greeting cards and notepads to bookplates, I start each day feeling lucky to do what I love. AN ELF DID IT. I’m often asked how I came up with the name Sunshine and Ravioli and it’s a story that goes back to the early 2000s. The movie Elf came out while I was trying to come up with the business name and my kids loved it (we still laugh through it every year). We wore out the soundtrack from the movie and I found inspiration from one of our favorite sing along songs, “Pennies from Heaven” by Louis Prima. In one part of the song the lyrics are “Sunshine and Ravioli” and it stuck with me. Better yet, it makes my heart smile every time I think about those little nuggets sitting in their seats in the minivan, singing that song at the top of their lungs as we drove down the highway. The name captures everything I want to share with my customers—happy, warm fuzzy memories. Thank you so much for supporting handmade. I’m very glad you’re here. Stephanie Read more. Write more.
