Hosted by POST + Julia, from Electric Pink
Saturday September 14th from 2pm to 5pm
This workshop is a special feature during TEXTILE TAKEOVER, our annual indoor/outdoor weekend long event! The weekend will be full of demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and craft activities to compliment an outdoor art/craft fair. We will be harvesting plants from the dye garden and hosting an array of fashion and fibers-focused classes in the studios.
Learn the basics of weaving and try out multiple techniques while creating a unique framed tapestry. This basic weaving class is perfect for beginners. During this 3 hour make & take workshop, Julia will walk you through various materials, tools, and ways to warp your frame loom to create colorful compositions with many textures. Everyone will receive tapestry needles, yarn, and a handcrafted wooden frame made by Mutual Adoration.
You will create a ready-to-hang woven wall hanging during the class and take home plenty of materials to keep practicing and creating!
