Local artist, Mitch Segall will guide you through the making of a gorgeous, custom set of floral nesting plates.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eDuring this two-part 6 hour workshop, you’ll learn all about the slab building technique. You’ll also learn how to effectively imprint clay to create texture using found objects. By the end of class, you’ll understand proper drying techniques for creating tiles, plates, and other flat work in porcelain.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAll supplies and materials will be provided. If you wish, we invite you to bring in your own foraged materials to imprint into your final piece. He has been working with clay for nearly 20 years and teaching for over 10 years. Mitch has apprenticed in a number of pottery studios and is the manager of Pewabic Pottery’s gallery shop. He loves exploring shape, texture, and color, and stretching those elements within the limitations of clay.
