Two-Day Weaving Workshop: Hanging Tapestries with Julia Targus of Electric Pink
Saturdays November 5th & November 12th from 10am - 1pm
Intermediate Class— Some experience necessary. You've either taken Julia's beginner class, have experience using a loom, or are a speedy learner!
Must be 15 or older.
During this two-day intensive workshop, Julia will guide you through the ins and outs of designing a free-hanging wall tapestry!
Building on the skills covered in the Beginner Frame Weaving class, you'll explore different stitch patterns like a twill or basket weave; and take them to the next level by building layers of texture with soumak or rya knots and interlocking shapes. You’ll also learn how to attach a dowel rod and finish your piece off the loom. We’ll have a wide variety of yarn sizes, textures, and colors to work with using our extra large in-house looms.
This workshop is perfect for intermediate weavers who have already taken our beginner class, or hold experience weaving on a framed, desktop loom. Includes all materials and tools needed for project, as well as refreshments!
COVID-19 POLICY - We are asking all workshop participants to be fully vaccinated or provide a negative test result from within three days prior to the class and to accept all requests of both POST and the instructor concerning mask wearing.
