Ceramics Workshop: Holiday Ornaments with Mitch Segall
Sunday December 10th from 4-6:30pm
Beginner Level Class - Must be 16 or older (minors with supervision).
Designed for those who love to get their hands dirty and make gorgeous home accents from scratch! Local ceramic artist, Mitch Segall will guide the class through the fun and festive process of creating unique, customized ornaments.
This beginner-friendly workshop offers a good introduction to the techniques used for creating tiles, plates, and other flat work in porcelain. During this workshop, you’ll learn how to effectively roll out clay, cut shapes, and create textures. Glaze will be added by POST staff before the ornaments go into the kiln. You will have a variety of glaze colors to choose from.
All supplies, materials, and refreshments will be provided.
Please note, your ornaments will be ready for pick up 1.5 weeks after the class, when the glazing and kiln firing is complete.
About the Instructor:
My name is Mitch Segall and I’m the founder of Central Ceramics Co. I’ve been working with clay for nearly 20 years, since I took my first ceramics course in high school. Since then I’ve worked and apprenticed in a number of studios and have over 10 years of experience teaching pottery. I love exploring shape, texture, and color and the ways in which I can stretch their limitations with clay. Currently, my work reflects the aesthetics that have inspired me during my life in the central USA and while living in Central America.
