Hosted by POST + Rachael Barlock, of Hazel + Dolly
Thursday May 7th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Ya girl Rachael wants to teach you lettering with watercolor!
During this hands-on workshop, Rachael will guide you through the ins and outs of hand lettering. You'll learn about modern calligraphy, along with tips and techniques to develop a unique, personal style. The small group class will have plenty of time and scrap paper to practice. We'll practice various watercolor methods to create an 8x10 piece of art to take home and enjoy! All materials will be provided including brushes, paint, and paper but feel free to bring in any other tools you have been eager to try out.
Along with your work of art you will also get a watercolor palette, lettering brush, and watercolor paper to continue the fun on your own!
8 x 10 inch Mutual Adoration frames will be available in the shop at a 20% discount for workshop attendees!
About the instructor:
Rachael Barlock owns and operates Hazel + Dolly in Detroit, Michigan. She named her business after her two grandmothers to try to honor the slow and intentional practices of their time while adding bold hand lettering and blunt commentary on life. Rachael builds her business off of hand lettered designs and letterpress printing, and she will 100% tell you a bad joke or talk about nachos during your class.
