Betsy Stecker, the nature-inspired artist behind Big Mitten Linocuts, is an award-winning linoleum printmaker whose work is featured in fine art fairs across the Midwest and in more than a dozen Michigan galleries. She sketches onto linoleum blocks, carves the designs in relief, rolls ink to the carved blocks, and applies pressure to transfer the designs. Betsy's nature-inspired prints come from frequent travels to northern Michigan. Big Mitten Linocuts products on Faire are all high-quality reproduction prints and cards made entirely in Michigan: Betsy is a Michigan artist, the paper is recycled cardstock that is manufactured at a hydropowered plant in southwest Michigan, and her reproduction work is printed by a mom-and-pop printshop near her studio.
