The daisy, for its part, remained unbothered by any of this, which is really the whole pitch. Warm orange, permanently mid-bloom, the kind of flower that looks pleased to see you even though it is, definitionally, ceramic and incapable of feelings of any kind. It doesn't wilt, doesn't need water, doesn't judge you for forgetting to water the real ones sitting three feet away, and it certainly isn't going to leave you a note about the fridge. Hang it in a kitchen, a sunroom, a hallway that's needed something for two years. Resolve your grudges or don't — the flower isn't going to check on you either way, and that, more than anything, is the appeal.

These handmade ceramic beauties are perfect for adding charm to your tabletop or wall. Each one is crafted and glazed by hand so colors may vary slightly, making each flower as unique as the natural versions.

Measures: Approx. 3.5 x 3.5 inches

Weight: approx. 1 lb

How to hang: This piece is hung using two nails or screws. While I do not personally use drywall anchors please use your best judgement based on your wall type, or consult your local hardware store.

Please note: Due to the handmade nature of this product, slight variations in color and imperfections are to be expected and part of the handcrafted charm.

Cornflower blue is one of the few colors that gets its own name in the crayon box, which tells you something about how specific and how beloved it is. This flower is handmade, hand-glazed, mounts or stands, and holds its fine, fringed petals permanently. Fresh cornflowers are delicate to the point of tragedy; they bruise if you look at them wrong and last only a few days. This one takes a shipping journey, a shelf, and a decade without flinching.

The Maiden Lotus shape is more open and layered than most ceramic florals in this range, closer to a soft-focus photograph than a flower, and the Peridot Green is bright without tipping into neon, which is a line ceramic glazes cross more often than anyone likes to admit. It reads as boho, sits well on a gallery wall, and doesn't require anyone's approval to look good on a shelf. The layered petal structure catches light differently depending on the angle it's displayed at, which makes it a surprisingly strong choice for shops with west-facing windows and a lot of afternoon sun. It mounts flat or sits upright in a shallow bowl arrangement.

It's handmade, glazed by hand, and the caramel warms the purple just enough to keep it from reading cold. It mounts or stands, it never wilts, and it plays the supporting role a good display actually needs — the punctuation between the big blooms. Fresh violets last about a long weekend. This one lasts as long as the wall does.

Each piece is handmade, which means real humans with real feelings and occasionally real hangovers carefully craft each leaf, each petal, each impossible-to-kill botanical.

This Pink Sand Hibiscus is one of our new Japan flowers — the muted, modern palette, a little wider now. Hibiscus is a tropical flower doing its best to imply a vacation, and in pink sand it manages the impressive trick of implying that vacation without the little paper umbrella. The Japan collection took a flower that's usually screaming "beach bar" and gave it a dusty, grown-up color, and the result is a hibiscus you can put in an apartment in a cold city and have it read as taste rather than wishful thinking.

The sugarbush is the protea's less famous cousin. The chestnut glaze is that undefinable thing — warm, dry, a little rustic, the color of a season rather than a specific month. Mounts on a wall or stands on a shelf. Never dries out, never sheds, never does the crispy thing a dried protea does after a season on a shelf. This one stays exactly as full as the day it arrived.

The Avocado Green glaze is a deep, dusty olive that reads as sophisticated rather than novelty. The dense, ruffled petal structure gives it real texture, and it pairs naturally with the other muted greens in the English Garden range for a cohesive, boho-leaning wall grouping, especially when clustered with two or three other muted-tone pieces rather than displayed alone.

Marigolds, traditionally, live in the orange-and-yellow family almost exclusively, and a genuinely blue marigold is, botanically, not really a thing that occurs — which is precisely why this piece exists in the first place, taking the marigold's familiar ruffled, densely petaled shape and rendering it in a cool robin's-egg blue that no actual marigold plant has ever managed.

Milk Teal, a soft, chalky blue-green that looks like the inside of a robin's egg that's had some time to think about things. The poppy shape itself — those loose, papery-looking petals — is deceptively hard to get right in ceramic, which is the kind of sentence I say to sound knowledgeable while someone else does the actual glazing. It hangs flat against a wall or leans into an arrangement, and it photographs better than most of the people who buy it, myself very much included. The papery-edged petal shape holds up well under close inspection, which matters for a flower this delicate-looking, and the flat-backed construction means it mounts flush against a wall without the awkward shadow gap some dimensional ceramic florals leave behind.
