The creation of forms using hand building techniques, with minimal use of tools, ables Kelly to further the idea of clay as a natural material. In a visceral conception, her hand in clay produces a powerful finished piece which captures a moment in the process. The nature of her methods are embodied in the work, and each serve as narrative to the other. All of Kelly's functional pieces are organic and fluid which makes them comfortable and exciting to use on an everyday basis.

As married designers, nothing is off limits when it comes to creating new wares and products. We keep it modern, simple, functional, and fun. Ceramics are our passion. But, seriously. If we're not designing new wares we're turning over existing pieces in our hands, thinking of ways to make them better, more beautiful, more compelling. With 25 years in the ceramics industry, our aesthetic aims for modern homes, contemporary families, and design-forward minds. With a focus on tabletop ceramics and home goods, Lark’s mission is to provide contemporary wares of the highest quality made in the most capable, ethical production settings. A husband and wife design team, Kaitlyn and Ryan Lawless, our studio is based in Michigan. Lark is named after our family, an acronym that inspires us to take every design a little higher.

Thumbprint Artifacts was conceived in 2012 by two life-long friends, Becky Riess and Kris Engle. These creative Michiganders wanted to recognize entrepreneurial spirit by supporting fairly traded artisan companies in areas of the world greatly affected by unemployment. This support translates into empowerment and self-sufficiency that helps the artisans care for themselves, their families, and contribute to their communities. With Kris based in South Africa and Becky based in Michigan, they created their 'cycle of success' by purchasing directly from the artisans and sharing their crafts with galleries and fine boutiques across the world. Each item sold positively impacts employment security and growth to build sustainable and profitable businesses. Most of the artisans are women, primarily single mothers, who all take great pride in their work. Considering the extended families that each artisan supports, Thumbprint Artifacts is currently touching the lives of 500+ people.
Thumbprint Artifacts is a Proud Member of the Fair Trade Federation - a trade association of fair trade enterprises fully committed to equitable and sustainable trading partnerships. They strengthen and support members in order to grow the global movement of trade that values the health of the planet, and the labor, dignity, and equality of all people.

E.Lo Ceramic Art is design and creation of clean modern functional forms by artist Emily LoPresto. Emily has been working with clay for more than half her life, her current work is functional slip cast ceramic objects for every day use. With an emphasis on the process of mold making the work starts as lines and shapes in 3D modeling software. Emily uses modern technology as an aid in creating prototypes that are used to make plaster molds. Using colored porcelain each piece is cast in a mold and finished by hand. The functionally of the work is what drives the design and the idea of use is what drives the maker.
