It’s me, Monique. I am the owner-artist-esthetician and Leisure Evangelist at Alchemy. I make beautiful things slowly because I cannot ‘office’. My first degree is in Recreation and Leisure Studies, I am a licensed esthetician, and I believe in science and magic. Life-long learning is a passion of mine, I am a student of henna and of fragrance design. One of my favorite ways to meet new people is by taking hands-on workshops. A bit of a home-body, you’re likely to find me nesting in some fashion; small home-improvement projects, knitting or gardening. My husband and I have been together for nearly thirty years and we share our Ferndale home with two kids and two rescue dogs.

WHAT IS SLOW LIVING? It’s a radical lifestyle in a culture that considers BUSY the norm and exhaustion a status. Embracing SLOW is about creating a more contented life by:

• re-claiming your leisure time
• de-emphasizing “JOB” as a defining metric
• acknowledging wellness has more worth than your ‘net’

One Blessed Acre began when my family returned to my home town in Northern California after my husband retired from the Air Force so that we could be closer to my parents. I love all things country. Our family wanted a quieter pace of life, raising our children to love animals and self-sufficiency. One of the first animals added to our farm was chickens. Once we had adequate housing, we added Nubian dairy goats, with the intent of drinking the milk. They were bred and then we were in milk - a whole lot of milk! Out of that milking came lots of excess milk for soaps and lotions. Once I began looking at the labels on beauty products I quickly realized the need to have more natural products for my family to use. I found a love for being able to create different scented soaps and lotions. Our goal is to educate our community on the benefits that goat milk has for our skin.

Your beauty routine has never been so easy! These rose infused sponges cleans the face in one easy step and removes all impurities, without the need to add soap.

Konjac sponges are perfect for normal and combination skins.

WHY I AM KIND This 100% natural and biodegradable sponge is made from konjac root fibers. Its irregular texture makes it a perfect smooth sponge that exfoliates very gently and is perfect for the most sensitive skins. HOW TO USE Rinse the sponge with warm water until it becomes soft. Massage the skin by making circular movements. Rinse the sponge and hang it with the string to let it dry between uses. After 2 or 3 months of use (or 100 uses), put the konjac sponge in the compost.

Suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive ones.

Our skin can take quite a beating throughout the day. Fortunately, nature provides a way to mitigate the toll of our modern lives. Oils extracted from fruits, nuts, and seeds are rich in vitamins and nutrients necessary for skin health.

The essential oils in our Chai salve evoke a warm, spiciness aroma reminiscent of cool Fall evenings, changing leaves, and quality time spent curled up beside a fire. It is a fantastic alternative to the typical Pumpkin Spice.

Our body oil comes in a frosted glass bottle that looks great by any sink. The beautiful glass bottle is reusable, refillable, and eco friendly.

These charcoal infused sponges clean the face in one easy step and removes all impurities, without the need to add soap.

Because the konjac sponge is a cleanser itself, it can limit the use of plastic bottles!

Package free! We will wrap in recyclable paper for shipping.

Plant Makeup is unique artisanal apothecary formulated skincare handmade with 100% natural ingredients. Roses, flowers, roots, berries and herbs - everything created is inspired by a natural flow of energy to just be your natural you. My plant based makeup is a bit different then regular makeup. It applies less pigmented on the skin compared to synthetic dyes or iron oxide derived colors. I made plant pigmented paints early on when I started studying plants and this totally inspired the creation of Plant Makeup. Plant based paints are lighter gentler paints compared to deep colored conventional paints. Plant pigmented makeup is totally a new thing as they provide light natural hues of color then dramatic bold color stains. A compromise to the modern - or new way of beauty!

At the heart of my brand is a deep connection to nature, art, and community. Each product is crafted with care, from handpicked herbs grown in local gardens to custom scent blends infused with intention. What makes my brand unique is the personal touch in every small-batch item, whether it’s a candle, lip balm, or perfume. Sustainability is a core value. I use eco-friendly packaging, reusable containers, and offer a packaging return program to reduce waste. My commitment to the planet extends beyond my products, as I actively participate in community gardens and advocate for sustainable living. As an artist, I design all the artwork featured on my product labels, adding creativity and magic to each item. Every label tells a story, blending artistry and nature to create a one-of-a-kind experience for my customers. What I care most about is crafting products that are not only good for people but also benefit the environment and community. Through my brand, I hope to inspire others to live more mindfully, support small businesses, and find beauty in everyday moments.

Cosmically Misplaced is a cruelty-free beauty and home scent company located in Asheville, NC. Everything we offer is made to order, while that might make our processing times a little longer, you get the freshest products on your shelves for your customers! Created by Chrissy Jordan in 2011 as a creative outlet after having her second son. After experiencing a change in her skin from having children, finding alternatives to conventional skincare and beauty set me on a path to learning all I could about formulating. Using plant-based, high-quality, ethically sourced ingredients is my first goal when formulating. My husband John has joined the business now in retirement from the Coast Guard. Together we enjoy creating new products while raising our three boys on our homestead in North Carolina.
