Stacey Malasky is an artist, illustrator, and screen printer living and working out of Detroit. She is a founding co-owner of Ocelot Print Shop, a community screen printing shop in the Cass Corridor. All of Stacey's screen prints are made from her original drawings. Each one is a little unique, because they are all hand pulled. She is endlessly inspired by the natural world, especially her backyard eco-system. She uses eco-friendly, water based inks for paper and textile printing. All of her prints are printed on French Paper, a Michigan based family owned paper mill that creates lovely papers. Introducing my new collection entitled Ebb + Flow which was inspired by sweet moments in my life. 2 1/2 years ago, I went on my first ever 4-day silent meditation retreat. On a beautiful Fall day, I took myself into the woods to sit and paint. As I sat in silence with the window gently blowing the leaves from their branches, I had a memory of my younger son, the previous year building a cairn (stack of rocks) in the middle of a fast-flowing river in upstate New York. His determination and focus were unwavering despite the water flowing rapidly around him. I re-imagined this cairn and sat in silence painting stack after stack. These ebbs and flows in life have been a constant reminder to me to accept the rhythmical patterns, the comings & goings, the decline & regrowth. During the recent quarantine, I returned to these paintings as a form of meditation and so this collection was born.

London born Claudia Pearson settled in New York in the mid-1990s, having traveled to the 4 corners of the world, and began her career as a commercial illustrator. With a heritage in English teatime traditions, it made sense to marry her passion for drawing and her love of travel with a range of hand-drawn illustrated tea towels and so began Claudia Pearson. Ten years later and Claudia's brand has grown into an expansive line of tea towels, tote bags, and other accessories for the home using the finest source materials including canvas and flour sack cotton. The original values of expert attention to detail, ecological awareness, and premium U.S. made materials are evident in her products. 100% flour sack cotton and canvas totes are cut and sewn in the US and then each towel and tote is individually screen printed by a small family firm. Launching her product line from a small weekend booth at her local Brooklyn Fleamarket, Claudia's products are now stocked in stores across the US and shipped worldwide as they make fantastic gifts and home accessories. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two teenage sons and continues to travel as much as she can.

Hand screen printed by Paula using water based, eco friendly inks. 18” squared (note, due to handmade nature some sizes may vary slightly) These are individually hand printed on textured cotton so position and ink may vary on fabric surface.

Care: wash in cold/warm water, mild detergent. We recommend hang drying to prolong the life of screen print, iron opposite side.

The ALJEZUR tea towel is inspired by the Portuguese tradition of decorative tiles, which have been a form of expression in Portugal for over five centuries. Azulejos reflect the country’s history and culture and their aesthetic inspired us to create this modern woven jacquard pattern. 

This linen/cotton tea towel dries dishes perfectly and quickly, leaving no traces or stripes. After weaving, it is being treated with a stonewash finishing, which gives it an extra soft and gentle touch and ages beautifully, getting softer every time you wash it.
