Gemini Handmade is a family-operated leather-craft studio located in Grand Rapids, MI USA, owned by Elyse + Jake Vroon. Elyse + Jake were competition when they met as leather-workers on the craft-show circuit, and share a shop, studio, and now another line of leather-goods, together! A result of years of partnership and growth as a couple, the Gemini Handmade Collection is the showcase of their years of collaboration and creation, featuring accessories and home-goods crafted from leather and other natural materials. All of the goods in this collection are crafted by hand in small batches at their Grand Rapids, MI studio. Created from American Veg-Tag leathers in beautiful earth-tones, these unisex accessories are made for the every-body who appreciates classic style and well made things. Cutest little African animals made from recycled wire and beads make wonderful, whimsy key chains! All handmade in the Salt River district of Cape Town by Godfrey and his team.

Each animal is approximately 1" to 2.5" in size so it fits easily in a pocket or purse.

As each animal is hand beaded and unique, the color of beads you receive may be different than what is photographed.

Thumbprint Artifacts was conceived in 2012 by two life-long friends, Becky Riess and Kris Engle. These creative Michiganders wanted to recognize entrepreneurial spirit by supporting fairly traded artisan companies in areas of the world greatly affected by unemployment. This support translates into empowerment and self-sufficiency that helps the artisans care for themselves, their families, and contribute to their communities. With Kris based in South Africa and Becky based in Michigan, they created their 'cycle of success' by purchasing directly from the artisans and sharing their crafts with galleries and fine boutiques across the world. Each item sold positively impacts employment security and growth to build sustainable and profitable businesses. Most of the artisans are women, primarily single mothers, who all take great pride in their work. Considering the extended families that each artisan supports, Thumbprint Artifacts is currently touching the lives of 500+ people. 

Thumbprint Artifacts is a Proud Member of the Fair Trade Federation - a trade association of fair trade enterprises fully committed to equitable and sustainable trading partnerships. They strengthen and support members in order to grow the global movement of trade that values the health of the planet, and the labor, dignity, and equality of all people.
