Stacey Malasky is an artist, illustrator, and screen printer living and working out of Detroit. She is a founding co-owner of Ocelot Print Shop, a community screen printing shop in the Cass Corridor. All of Stacey's screen prints are made from her original drawings. Each one is a little unique, because they are all hand pulled. She is endlessly inspired by the natural world, especially her backyard eco-system. She uses eco-friendly, water based inks for paper and textile printing. All of her prints are printed on French Paper, a Michigan based family owned paper mill that creates lovely papers. Stacey's tea towels are printed on 100% cotton towels that are also produced in Michigan, by a small family owned business.

Siblings and lifelong, seventh-generation Detroiters, Andy and Emily Linn founded City Bird in 2005. In their Detroit-based studio, they produce a popular house line of Detroit, Michigan, and Great Lakes-themed items.

 

Tomatoes are grown worldwide and have thousands of cultivars with a wide range of sizes, colors and flavors. They are used raw in salads and sandwiches, as well as an ingredient in many dishes, sauces and drinks.

Botanically, it is known as a fruit or berry, but in the culinary world it is usually known as a vegetable. This dwarf variety is cherry tomato in size, very prolific and does well indoors on a sunny windowsill.

Each handwoven piece contains her deep-seated love of interacting colors, delight in rhythmic patterns, curiosity with different textures, and her forever fascination with the ancient craft of weaving.

This woven Fingertip Towel is 100% handwoven cotton, measuring 10x22 inches. Perfect as an accent in your kitchen or bathroom and they make great housewarming presents. DCA is a podcast dedicated to interviewing makers, creators, and DIY small business owners about what they do.
