Art and science have always been large influences in my life. However, creating a career which merges the two together took quite some time to figure out. I am a self-taught artist with a degree in atmospheric science and a certificate in Science Illustration. I decided to pursue art while presenting my research at the undergrad symposium at the University of Washington in 2013. It took seven years of developing my skills and completion of the science illustration program in 2020 before I started Psychedelic Lens, the business. My focus is to showcase and educate about the psychedelic beauty of the natural world, specifically of those who reside in the wonderful Cascadian bioregion which I call home. Dayna is a recent graduate of Kendall College of Art and Design, earning her BFA and Excellence Award in Printmaking in May of 2019. Her deep rooted passion for the natural world is the driving factor in her work, her background studying natural science illustration shows in her prints, patterns, and design work.

Round wood case with a perfectly centered core that is adhered throughout for break resistance and even sharpening. Lacquered finish matches the core. Mocktails can be (and frankly should be) so much more than just sodas and juices!

This workshop is designed for sober-minded party people, thoughtful hosts, and cocktail enthusiasts who want to learn more about serving and savoring non-alcoholic beverages.  

Robyn will share tips and tricks for everything you'll need to create an impressive selection of drinks using fresh ingredients, N/A liquors, and fun garnishes.

Students will taste, practice, and gain confidence using specialty tools along with a variety of flavors. Take home specially curated recipes and the know-how to step up your mocktail game at home!

Drop-In Workshop: Decorated Ceramic Ornaments with Rachel

Sunday December 14th

DROP-IN anytime between 12pm and 4pm

This drop-in project does not have a specific start and stop time. Just drop-in anytime during the workshop. Please note that most folks will need approximately 30 minutes to complete this project so please plan accordingly.

Entry Level Class—No experience necessary

All ages are welcome but note that all youngsters must be accompanied by an adult.

Celebrate the season with a customized ceramic ornament, perfect for gifting!

In this drop in workshop, you will get to choose an ornament from a wide array of shapes. With a variety of color underglaze paints at your disposal, Rachel will walk you through glazing techniques as you decorate your chosen piece.

Once you have painted on your glaze, your ornament will be loaded into the kiln to be fired. All ornaments will be ready for pick up 1 week after class. We will call/email everyone when they are ready. POST can also ship ornaments directly to recipients.

All supplies will be provided including hangers, colorful ribbons, and gift boxes. 

About the Instructor:

Rachel Gervais is an artist + educator based in Hamtramck, MI. With a BFA in Ceramics from CCS, Rachel has used her education to fuel her love for craft and share those skills with all ages. She loves exploring the quality of texture and the intimate relationship of holding a cup, bowl, or small vase.

Pom Pom Garland Workshop

Join us for a session of crafty fun while we plan parties, chat about upcoming celebrations, and learn a new skill. These garlands are great for year-round decorating and would make lovely gifts as well. 

Create colorful & festive decor, while learning the art of pom pom making. Each student will be provided with all the supplies to work on their unique project. We will work with cotton, acrylic, and wool yarns.

Everyone will leave with a completed 8ft garland with poms in varying sizes, along with the know-how and inspiration to continue making on their own.

About the Instructor:

Julie Broekman (formerly Rudziensky) was born and raised in Michigan. She is an automotive color and material designer by day and a jewelry designer/maker by night. Her jewelry line, Fate & Coincidence, is a mix of boho-modern style that is sold in over 50 stores around the country. She is a lover of wildlife, nature, and color.
