Shibori is a traditional Japanese tie-dying art that dates back over 500 years to the beginning of the Edo period. The Shibori technique is given a three-dimensional form by folding, crumpling, stitching, plaiting, or plucking and twisting the cloth surface into 3-dimensional shapes before compressing them to dye.
