Tillandsia Capitata Air Plant
Tillandsia is the largest genus in the bromeliad family. Tillandsia, also known as "air plant". This means that it doesn't need soil, but, instead, obtains water and nutrients from the air. They absorb the water through their leaves, not their roots – the roots serve no other purpose than to cling on to other objects. They also look great clustered in a bowl or used in a centerpiece.
Originally from Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Honduras, and Mexico, the it has stiff light green velvety leaves that blush peach when in bloom. These large air plants look beautiful displayed on their own or on a wall mount where their size can be appreciated. The capitata will also produce offsets (pups) after blooming, and can grow into quite an impressive clump.
