Hand Lettering Workshop: Chalkboard Lettering

Join us as we learn the basics of artful chalkboard lettering from a seasoned professional. During this hands-on workshop, Nicole will teach you a variety of techniques using chalkboard markers and traditional chalk including how to season your board, set up your design, and how to letter on your board.

Everyone will receive a wooden framed chalkboard, made by Mutual Adoration, to take home with them. Perfect to hang in your kitchen for menu planning, shopping lists, inspirational quotes, notes, or whatever you like!

No lettering experience is necessary, but if you have taken any of Nicole's other lettering workshops, this is a great class to take your skills to the next level.

All tools and supplies are included. Students will take home 2 POSCA paint pens, 1 wooden chalkboard, a workshop booklet, and the knowledge to continue this practice at home.

About the Instructor:

Nicole St. John Hamborsky is a visual artist based in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan. Her specialties include food and beverage photography, modern design and lettering, and creative direction. Nicole is a proud alumni of the College for Creative Studies in Detroit and the owner/operater of upstairs neighbor which specializes in sign painting, calligraphy, lettering, chalkboard illustration, teaching, and more.
