Milk Teal, a soft, chalky blue-green that looks like the inside of a robin's egg that's had some time to think about things. The poppy shape itself — those loose, papery-looking petals — is deceptively hard to get right in ceramic, which is the kind of sentence I say to sound knowledgeable while someone else does the actual glazing. It hangs flat against a wall or leans into an arrangement, and it photographs better than most of the people who buy it, myself very much included. The papery-edged petal shape holds up well under close inspection, which matters for a flower this delicate-looking, and the flat-backed construction means it mounts flush against a wall without the awkward shadow gap some dimensional ceramic florals leave behind.
