Drop-In Workshop: Paper Collage with Julie Broekman

This drop-in project does not have a specific start and stop time. Just drop-in anytime during the workshop. Please note that most folks will need approximately 30 minutes to complete this project so please plan accordingly.

Entry Level Class—No experience necessary

All ages are welcome but note that all youngsters must be accompanied by an adult.

Explore color, shape, and joyful composition in this hands-on collage workshop inspired by the bold cut-outs of Henri Matisse! Create your own expressive paper collage using an extraordinary selection of rare vintage Pantone spot color papers—rich, saturated hues and unique tones you won’t find anywhere else.

Participants will learn simple techniques for cutting organic shapes, layering colors, and arranging forms to create vibrant abstract artwork. Perfect for all ages and skill levels—no experience necessary!

Come relax and create with us, leaving with your own frame-worthy collage bursting with color and creativity.

About the Instructor:

Julie Broekman (née Rudziensky) is a Livonia, MI based artist. By day she works in the automotive design industry, and by night she channels her creativity into jewelry design and the visual arts. Her newest venture, Fisherfolk, features a curated collection of handmade jewelry, vintage home goods, and craft supplies.

A lover of bold color, rich textures, and the beauty of the natural world, Julie draws constant inspiration from her surroundings—infusing her work with vibrancy, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for materials.
