This magical workshop will take you on a journey using your own written intentions to create a potent painting that can have a lasting beneficial impact for yourself and those around you for years to come. What are your intentions and desires? What do you want?
We will start by exploring our intentions through discussion and some quick jotting down of ideas, then we will write our intentions DIRECTLY onto the canvas, letting them “sink in” before we paint over them. The words will eventually be entirely covered with paint but their power will be very much alive in the finished piece, acting as a talisman or charm. I love abstract art and find it works well for my own intention paintings, but if you want to do a landscape or seascape or a portrait…or just fingerpaint, go for it!
I will guide you along and ask you to really trust your gut when it comes to applying the paint. We can use our hands, brushes or palette knives to work the materials and have some fun in the process.
- All are welcome to attend and no art-making experience is necessary.
- Aprons, gloves, and all materials/tools/supplies will be provided.
- Each attendee will take home multiple works of art, along with the know-how and inspiration to continue making on their own.
About the Instructor:
Shug (Sheri Lee Robinson) is an accomplished Abstract Art instructor at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center in Birmingham, Michigan and a working fine artist. Her sold out courses have her students glowing with creative flow and leaving with bold new bodies of exciting work Her dedication to her practice and her compelling, surrealist/abstract painting style has attracted admirers and collectors from all over the world.
