Drop-In Workshop: Decorated Wooden Ornaments with Nicole

Sunday December 20th

DROP-IN anytime between 2pm and 5pm

This drop-in project does not have a specific start and stop time. Just drop-in anytime during the workshop. Please note that most folks will need approximately 20-30 minutes to complete this project so please plan accordingly.

Entry Level Class—No experience necessary

All ages are welcome but note that all youngsters must be accompanied by an adult. The electric woodburner is HOT and must be handled by adults only.

Celebrate the season with a customized ornament, perfect for gifting!

• Choose a baltic birch wooden ornament measuring approximately 4-6" in a variety of festive shapes.
• Customize your ornament using paints and a hand-held woodburner tool.
• Nicole will guide everyone through some hand-lettering basics so you can inscribe a lovely monogram, phrase, or name.
• Seasonal graphics will be provided to trace onto the wood or you can free-hand your design!
• Finish it off with colorful beads & ribbons.

All supplies will be provided. Workshop fee is $20 per ornament. You are welcome to purchase additional ornaments the day of class.

About the Instructor:

Nicole St. John Hamborsky is a visual artist based in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan. Her specialties include food and beverage photography, modern design and lettering, and creative direction. Nicole is a proud alumni of the College for Creative Studies in Detroit and the owner/operater of upstairs neighbor which specializes in sign painting, calligraphy, lettering, chalkboard illustration, teaching, and more.
